MICHAEL COSTELLO |
This was a very emotional and probably the best episode of the show probably ever.
Its starts off simple enough. The contestants regroup after Ivy's dismissal last week and Valerie continues to say it should have been her. They both were awful but it is just one at a time honey. Tim gives them their new assignment. Its a throw back from last year when the contestants use HP fancy smancy technology to create their own fabric and this time they have to do it with inspiration from their pasts. Everyone digs deep for their inspiration but this is when we get the biggest shock just dropped on us like an asteroid.

MONDO COMES OUT |
Last week's champion comes out. He admits to being HIV +, at least to the cameras at this point. This takes me by complete surprise and the episode takes a completely different turn once you realize all the other contestants' self loathing really means nothing and someone has a bigger problem. Mondo has grown to be my favorite on the show and hearing this was heartbreaking but his strength is so encouraging and I can't feel anything but proud of him.
|
THE BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED RACHEL ROY |
They get to meet their parents and loved ones to help inspire them. Andy loses his inspiration and gets home sick, Mondo decides not to tell his mother right yet ( he has been living with this for 10 years...WOW!) and Valerie thinks she can make it to top 3.
On to the train wreck...I mean run way. From Bad to really good with the worst and the best last.
|
ANDY'S NOT THERE THIS WEEK |
Andy's is just sad and horrible. His print is nice but this outfit is not Andy and is not even worthy to be on a rack. This is a design competition go overboard! This set him nicely into the bottom 2 and should have sent him packing.
|
CHRIS BORES AGAIN- CONSISTENTLY |
Chris is consistently boring. He got a visit from his boyfriend of ten years and still can't be inspired to make a decent garment. Enough said...he may be going home next.
|
COSTELLO'S NOT TOO BAD MICHAEL KORS HATES IT |
Costello's piece was interesting to me. I liked the tie look at the front and so did Heidi but not Michael Kors. It looks a little old fashioned though.
|
GRETS' PLAIN JANE |
Gretchen brings out this plain ass outfit. The print she designed got thumbs up from the judges but come on! Its like Chris' a big fat bore.
|
PAIGE...NICE |
Paige's is nice and interesting. The mess that the skirt is annoys me but the use of the print and the fantastic sleeve make it one of the better ones this week.
now for the winner this week
|
MONDO'S POSITIVE PRINT |
Mondo wins again and much deserving. He decides to come out to the judges to explain the print and its meaning to him and though it was very toughing the work spoke for itself. It was leaps and bounds above all of the others again and a clear winner. His confession really made me sad and happy at the same time as you can see he got a lot off of his chest and now his secret is out in the open the other contestants start to mellow out.
And the worst!
|
VALERIE SAD |
Valerie as I predicted last week was the worst and sent packing. I didn't hate her, I just thought she fell apart as the competition went one. This look is very similar to her party junk napkin dress and the top was horrible and ill fitting. She liked it, no one else did.
|
VALERIE BITES THE DUST |
Valerie has an emotional send off and commends each designer on their qualities and what she liked about them. She was a nice girl but in the end she didn't cut it.
I give this episode a
10/10. Congratulations Mondo on three wins a row!
