PROJECT RUNWAY SEASON 8 EPISODE 7

This week we get resort wear!

This week we got a Michael Kors challenge. The contestants are treated to a boat ride with snacks and were asked to come up with a resort wear out fit.

They started designing and then Tim came in and threw them a curve ball. They have to be paired up with another designer and then switch designs and practically create someone's work while they oversee someone sewing theirs.

Of course the drama begins with the pairing off. No one wants to work with Michael Costello because 'he can't sew' and are relieved when Mondo is chosen to be the lamp to the slaughter. Mondo is quickly on the defensive with Costello and this stems from all the negative reactions Costello gets from the other designers.

The team who had to most trouble was Ivy and Michael Drummond. Right off the bat we are again shown Ivy's bossiness and her inability to be creative. She figures Mike D. can't sew and being that he taught himself does not know the technical terms of someone like her who was schooled in design. So silly Ivy dumb down her look until it was wretched and blamed Mike D throughout like she has done Costello before.

April came out shooting this episode and is really growing on me as the only likable designer there.

In the end Mondo and Costello got to understand each other and Mondo realized all the bad reviews from the other designers about Costello was all bullshit.

In the end Mike D., April and Andy were the top three and Mondo, Casanova and Ivy were in the bottom.

Mike D was able to get his vision across and utilize Ivy's great construction skills to his advantage. Andy had a wonderful bathing suit and April had an edgy punky out fit.

Mondo

For the worst Mondo's childish design was terrible and not Costello's fault. They both just had mad love for each other and worked well as team so Mondo was safe.

IVY

Ivy threw Mike D under the bus even though it was her decision to dumb down the look because she thinks Mike D is dumb to begin with and her taste levels have been questionable throughout the competition so far. Costello defended Mike D and tells the panel Ivy is very bossy, which she is but only adding the her hate for Costello I'm sure.

Casanova's swan song

Casanova's design again was very old fashioned and he made the mistake of saying that his grandmother was the inspiration. I didn't hate the look really and find it was too harsh a critique. He was sent packing even though he had the marvelous Gretchen as his sewer. I really loved Casanova after awhile. He was fun and added some need light to the other dreary contestants.. Like Peach last week he will be missed.

I give this episode 7.5/10
