we open this episode where we left off last week with Dragan resurrecting Polar God Thor after his defeat and Brave taking on Jack Atlas who was left with merely 100 life points.
Brave uses Thor to attack Scar Red Nova Dragon even though they both retained the same attack points this destroyed both monsters. By the god card's special ability whenever it is destroyed it is revived during the End Phase inflicting 800 points of damage to the opponent. So we have Thor's resurrection and Jack's defeat.
Team 5D's next in line is Crow. Crow starts off strong by summoning his monsters and destroying Thor and reducing Brave's life points to 1250. Brave squeals like a bitch but then laughs it off using some tricks of his deck and regains all his life points, he brings Thor back and reduces Crow's life points by 800. He then destroys Crow's black feathered monsters setting himself up for Crow's rebuttal. Crow retaliates by using a trap that would send Thor back into Brave's extra deck which will prevent it from being resurrected and would have to be summoned all over again. Brave, smart as he is, destroys Thor himself so he can be revived during the end phase. Inflicting more damage to Crow leaving him with 650 life points.
We get a brief look into Brave's past and his motivations and we realize like Dragan before him, he really isn't a bad guy but just for the time being 5D's opponent so we still want to see him get his ass kicked.
Crow being inspired by his young wards successfully summons his Black Feathered Dragon. And since one of his monsters Alize was used to summon Black Feathered he regained 600 life points. Black Feather destroys Thor even though it will be summoned again. Thor is resurrected which naturally meant 800 more life points from Crow but Black Feathered special effect is activated which is Damage Drain and by reducing its attack points it absorbs the attack damage leaving Crow protected.
Short lived again as Brave decides that playing is over and quickly summons his own Polar God. Polar God Loki is brought to the field to stand next to his brother Thor.
Loki quickly launched an attack on Black Feathered but Crow activates a trap which would seal both gods back to the deck. Loki is the trickster god, so of course he throws a wrinkle in Crow's plan. When Loki attacks it negates one of the opponents magic or trap card and destroys it. Both Gods attack leaving Crow defenseless and with only 50 life points.
Now I knew this was going to be a difficult battle for Crow and he has a lot on the line. I seriously think these God Cards are too damn powerful. My only respite is that I know the 3 gods will be defeated somehow but it is looking pretty damn near impossible. This episode is just as intense as Jack's battle or even more so with Crow trying his best against an opponent who has some serious fire power. His Black Feathered Dragon has a great effect but it was not given the time to use it. I am sure Crow will take out Brave along with himself to set up Yusei to battle all three god cards and defeat them but we have to wait until next week to see part 2 of Crow's duel and beginning of Yusei's.
Another solid episode and exciting match 9/10
